Both exhibition buildings have an unattended cloakroom and eight lockers near the ticket sales counter. These can be used free of charge. Small bags or backpacks are allowed in the exhibition spaces, but larger bags must be left either in the cloakroom or a locker.

Drinking and eating are allowed in the restaurant and lobby. In the summer, there are also seating areas available outside. Food or drink is not allowed in the exhibitions or on the museum ships.

The floors in exhibition spaces or the ships’ decks do not withstand the use of studded shoes or stiletto heels. You can borrow a pair of slippers from the ticket sales.

Photographing in the exhibitions is allowed. However, the use of a flash is prohibited. Use @forummarinum to tag us in your social media posts!

Please contact us in advance if you intend to take photos for commercial use.

Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome in the museum. Due to allergies, other pets cannot visit the museum.

The museum ships are open to the public during summer. Outside the summer months, the ships can be visited on guided tours that need to be booked in advance.

The museum’s exhibition buildings are accessible.

The museum ships are not obstacle-free, as the vessels have steep stairs and some of the passages are narrow. The use of a wheelchair is not possible aboard the ships. Due to narrow passages and steep stairs, we do not recommend that people with reduced mobility visit the vessels without an assistant.

We are aware of the general need for fragrance-free visitor premises. However, it is a need we are unable to fully commit to at this time.

We keep lost items on-site for one month. You can inquire after your lost belongings via email (asiakaspalvelu@forum-marinum.fi) or by telephone (+358 40 5525 477).

Any valuables are immediately passed on to the authorities.

There are plenty of free parking spaces available on our yard. Parking on indicated spaces is allowed for four hours with a parking disc. Buses can be parked along the Linnankatu street, next to the white exhibition building. There is no bus parking available on the museum yard.

There are several parking areas for bicycles and e-scooters, for example near each exhibition building.

We have enough to see and do to fill the whole day! The duration of your visit depends on the time you are willing or able to spend exploring various texts and contents.

During the summer when all the sites are open, it is a good idea to reserve a few hours for the visit, if your goal is to see everything.

The museum shop is in the white Linnanpuomi building. The museum shop is open during the museum’s opening hours.

Restaurant Göranis located in the Kruununmakasiini building. The museum ship Bore serves lunch on weekdays, and café Navigare is open during the summer season.
