Working at Sea

The exhibition showcases maritime work through the experiences of real individuals. A diverse selection of individuals is featured in the exhibition: visitors can immerse themselves in maritime history from the perspectives of both a cabin boy and an officer, without forgetting the women who have also worked at sea.

The exhibition’s broadest thematic entities include the history of the Naval Forces and the merchant shipping of the Southwest Finland region. Other themes include the activities of maritime authorities, professional fishing, as well as peasant sailing and archipelago culture.
