World-class museum ships in Turku!

Forum Marinum’s largest museum ships float in Aura River:

• Barque Sigyn
• Gunboat Karjala

• Passengership Bore

Forum Marinum has a considerable collection of museum vessels: two tall sail ships, barque Sigyn and full-rigger Suomen Joutsen, two naval ships, gunboat Karjala and minelayer Keihässalmi, and several smaller vessels, ranging from a steam harbour tugboat to a police boat. The museum ships are open during the summer months only.

Museum ships opening hours:

Sigyn, Suomen Joutsen, Karjala and Keihässalmi are open again in the summer 2026.

The Forum Marinum has a total of over 100 boats, most of which have been built in South-West Finland. Some of the boats are shown to the public in the Linnanpuomi building and in the boathouse in the inner yard.
